  • Program Overview

    The Nurse Anesthesia option is designed to provide the professional nurse with an in depth concentration in clinical anesthesia and to prepare graduates of the program to assume the specialized role of nurse anesthetist. Students have the opportunity to contribute as a member of the health care team in providing optimal patient care. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to take the examination of the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists. This doctoral nursing option is a cooperative program between Gannon University and UPMC Hamot. Students must attend full-time in this option.

    Accreditation

    The Nurse Anesthesia program is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).
