Recent research, published in 2020, 2021, and 2022, focuses on data analytics, technology management, online learning, and how online university programs prepare students to work remotely. My upcoming research teaching case study will be published soon in the Journal of Information Technology. The title is “How Use of a Smartphone App in Digital Marketing Can Improve Any Business’s, Bottom Line.”

Prior to Gannon I taught both undergraduate and graduate students for over 19 years in traditional, online, and hybrid settings. Subject matter included courses in analytics, business management, digital marketing, technology, communication, and more at Penn State University, Clarion University, Chatham University, and Point Park University. Currently, I also am an advisor to three Ph.D. students in Europe.

My real-world experience in business, leadership, and technology spans over 20 years with various international corporations. This enables me to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for today’s competitive global environment. My corporate work involved many roles and functions—from analytics and database design to recruiting, mentoring, and managing the needs of international exchange students. I have planned and coordinated educational, social, and charitable activities; developed financial reports including pricing comparison using SWOT analysis; designed a project database for supply chain management; and managed a busy digital marketing department.

My research interests include management, technology, digital marketing, and analytics in practice. I have been particularly interested in the use of technology in the context of remote workers and virtual employees, including success factors in managing remote work from a global perspective, balancing productivity with the morale of virtual employees, using online courses to prepare students for the remote global workforce, and the use of technology for remote interviews. I have recently been focusing on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on remote workers and on their use of technology, management of remote workers during the pandemic, and the use of work-from-home (WFH) for post-pandemic planning and management.
