Gannon University's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program - Erie campus has several graduate assistantships including positions for anatomy assistants, lab and program development assistants. Graduate assistants receive a partial tuition waiver and a stipend. The assistantship program provides an opportunity to a select number of students to earn their DPT degree while gaining hands-on experience. Assistantship positions are available in:
- Anatomy (first or second year students)
- Program Development (second year students only)
Eligibility:
To be considered for appointment, an applicant must apply to the graduate physical therapy (DPT) program and have a superior academic average. Experience in the focused area of the assistantship is preferred.
Duties:
- Anatomy assistants will assist in the DPT program anatomy and clinical system courses with duties including lab set-up and tear downs.
- Program development graduate assistants will assist with clinical education, community health programs, student engagement activities, special project tasks, and student learning and remediation.

Studies:
Assistants take graduate courses (27 - 35 credit hours per year) spaced over the Fall, Spring and Summer sessions. They must maintain a B average.
Appointment:
Appointments are for one academic year and may be renewable for a second year based on satisfactory performance.
Stipend:
Students will receive partial tuition remission for the fall and spring semesters as determined by the University. A stipend will be paid in biweekly installments based upon student hours worked. Specific stipend amounts are set by the University in the spring of each year.
