Program Competencies

  • Gannon University Ruskin Physician Assistant Program Competencies for Entry Level Practice (ARC-PA Standards A3.12g, B4.02)

    Upon graduation from the Gannon University Ruskin Physician Assistant Program the student will have met the following competencies appropriate for practice as an entry level physician assistant.

    Medical Knowledge1

    • Graduates will demonstrate medical knowledge appropriate for an entry level physician assistant.

    Professional Behavior1

    • Graduates will demonstrate professionalism in interactions with patients and other members of the health care team.

    Interpersonal Skills1

    • Graduates will demonstrate effective communication skills to elicit and provide information to patients and members of the health care team.

    Clinical and Technical skills1

    • Graduates will demonstrate the clinical and technical skills appropriate for an entry level physician assistant.  
    • Graduates will perform accurate history and physical examinations.

    Clinical Reasoning and Problem-Solving Abilities

    • Graduates will integrate knowledge and skills in order to develop a differential diagnosis and a treatment plan.
