Application Process
Gannon University and the Occupational Therapy Department
receives and reviews applications for the professional entry-level
Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy program and all
applicant credentials exclusively through the Occupational Therapy
Centralized Application Service (OTCAS), provided by the American
Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). This includes information
from all previously attended university or college transcripts,
letters of recommendation, OT observation hours, personal essay and
supplemental materials. Full application instructions can be found

Program Requirements
The minimum requirements to be considered for acceptance into
the Occupational Therapy program at the graduate level include:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
conferred before beginning the graduate program.
- Overall grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.
- Cumulative prerequisite courses GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. No grade lower than a "C" will be accepted.
- All
prerequisite coursework must be completed within the 5 years preceding the MSOT
program start-date.
- Three letters of recommendation.
- Resume or curriculum vitae
- Personal Essay
- Prior to matriculation in the summer, students must complete a
minimum of 40 hours of OT volunteer experience and it is
recommended that hours are completed in two different
settings. Documentation must be submitted from the clinical volunteer
sites.

- Introduction to Psychology 3 credits
- Psychopathology or Abnormal
Psychology - 3 credits
- Developmental
Psychology - 3 credits
- Introduction to Sociology or a course with emphasis on cultural
diversity - 3 credits
- Anatomy and Physiology I with
Lab - 4
credits
- Anatomy and Physiology II with
Lab - 4 credits
- Statistics - 3 credits
- Physics
I - 3 credits
Please note: The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy
program starts in the summer with on-line and hybrid coursework (up
to 12 credits). Full-time, on- campus graduate coursework starts in
the fall semester.
Students
must have demonstrated efficiency in using tools common to distance education.
This might include a learning platform, special courses, or job experience.
Students taking an online course at Gannon University will require internet
access to utilize Blackboard for their coursework.
