Meet Katie Bartels, MAT, MA, CCC-SLP, LSLS Cert. AVEd, a highly skilled speech-language pathologist, Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and certified Listening and Spoken Language Specialist (LSLS Cert. AVEd). She brings specialized expertise in supporting young children who use hearing aids and cochlear implants, with a career devoted to partnering closely with families and caregivers during the earliest and most critical stages of communication development.

Katie’s professional background spans both clinical and educational settings, including seven years as a classroom teacher in international schools overseas. She also holds an international certificate in Teaching English as an Additional Language, strengthening her ability to support children from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds. Her global experience informs a deeply inclusive, family-centered approach to intervention.

In the classroom, Katie leverages her extensive pediatric and cross-cultural expertise to prepare future speech-language pathologists to serve children and families with skill, cultural humility, and confidence. She is passionate about empowering young children to find their voices—and guiding students to become inclusive, effective clinicians in a global profession.
