Professor Katy-Jan Bobseine joined the Defense Intelligence Agency as a terrorism intelligence officer after completing her graduate studies in international policy, terrorism, and weapons of mass destruction nonproliferation at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Transitioning to academia in 2013, she has served as Director of Applied Intelligence at Mercyhurst University, Director of Homeland Security Studies and Cybersecurity Certificate programs at Endicott College, and Graduate Studies Chair for Security and Intelligence Studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Professor Bobseine advocates for applied extracurricular security and intelligence projects, having led students in completing open-source intelligence (OSINT) contracts for federal agencies and the private sector. As Regional Director for the International Association for Intelligence Education, she most recently partnered with universities in Mexico and Canada to engage students in international OSINT assessments for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Professor Bobseine is excited to help Gannon students develop their knowledge and skills in criminal justice and intelligence subjects and connect them with career opportunities in these fields. Outside Gannon, she enjoys tutoring English as a Second Language learners, international travel, riding her horses, playing pickleball and softball, and gardening.
