I am a native New Yorker (Woodside, Queens) but lived in Maryland and West Virginia before coming to Gannon in 2002. Three of my grandparents immigrated to the United States from Ireland. My wife Stephanie and I have ten children and eight grandchildren. We home-educated all of our children through high school.
We like to camp together in two 6-person tents. So far we have camped throughout New England, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, the Carolinas, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Arizona and New Mexico. I was a fan of Washington's NFL team for most of my life, but no longer follow professional football. Since moving to Erie I have become a fan of MLB's Cleveland Guardians.
I was unsure of my career until, as a college senior, I was a member of a three-person team that was rated "Outstanding" in the annual Mathematical Contest in Modeling. That led to a Teaching Assistanship in graduate school and my life as a professor and mathematician was underway.
