Watch a Biography of Timothy Coppock
Dr. Coppock earned a doctorate in Counselor Education from The University of Toledo (CACREP accredited), a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Bowling Green State University, and a master of divinity from United Theological Seminary. Dr. Coppock joined the Clinical Mental Health Counseling faculty in 2007 and served as Clinical Experiences Coordinator for five years until his appointment as program director in 2013. Dr. Coppock has clinical experience in college counseling, community mental health counseling, employee assistance counseling, private practice, and currently maintains a limited practice with an Erie group practice. Dr. Coppock's research has focused on counseling outcomes with multiple projects that have investigated hope as a predictor for change. His scholarship interests include the development of social media guidelines for counselors, the ethics of spiritual interventions in counseling, and the development of counselor professional identity. Dr. Coppock likes to relax with regular exercise, hiking, movies, and travel to Manitoulin Island, Ontario.
