I love teaching writing. I view writing not as a finished product or basic skill, but as a lifelong activity. Writers never stop learning to write as long as they are encountering new or unfamiliar experiences that require writing. In my courses, there is significant focus given to considering the process and critical inquiry behind your work as well as the continual sharing, collaborating, and reflecting with the class. My hope is you leave my class a confident writer who can make rhetorically informed decisions about your writing.

I also value design. I believe both the content of our ideas and the form they take equally matter and that design is both a product as well as a process. Ultimately, my classes are meant to be spaces that foster innovation, but also challenge you to take risks. With this comes the understanding that risk involves messiness and failure, but both are integral and valuable.
