I graduated in 2009 from Thiel College with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Minor in Psychology. Upon graduation, I was hired as a teacher at Cranberry Elementary School in Seneca, PA. I am currently entering my 16th year of teaching and have spent the duration of my career focused on becoming a life-long learner. During my time as a teacher, I obtained my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and my Principal Certification from Gannon University. After obtaining my Principal Certification from GU, I was hired as an adjunct professor for the SOE. Over the past 14 years as an adjunct professor, I have taught: Learning Theory, Brain-Based Learning Tools, Classroom Management, Educational Tests and Measurements, School Curriculum, and now STEM Integrated Curriculum and Instruction. In addition, I have designed three courses for Gannon University; Learning Theory, School Curriculum, and STEM Integrated Curriculum and Instruction. Currently, I am enrolled in the STEM Endorsement program at Gannon and plan to complete this endorsement by the end of the current fall term.
In addition to my teaching experience at Cranberry and Gannon, I am an active member of GEMS (Girls Excelling in Math and Science) as part of a supplemental STEAM program for girls in Venango County. I have been an active member of this program for the past 12 years and serve as a Grant Manager and Program Facilitator for all of Venango County GEMS programs. Additionally, I am an active member of the Technology Committee and Science Committee at Cranberry Elementary and serve as the Minor Project Coordinator in my district.
In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my two children (Everett -10, Clara- 8), my husband, and our Mini-Bernedoodle named Lucy. We live in the country on 200 acres of land and enjoy camping, adventuring, and boating at the river. We also regularly visit Sarasota, Florida and enjoy the beach and sunshine.
I feel extremely blessed to be part of the Gannon family and I hope to get the opportunity to work with you during your time at GU.
