My research interests are as follows:

(a) Emerging Fields in CIS and Gen-Zers: Emerging fields as the various new subjects or areas of studies that have become predominant and prominent in Computer Science and Information Systems, particularly within the last decade. Popular examples include big data and analytics, cybersecurity, data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. The aim of my research in this area is to investigate and answer questions such as:

  • How do emerging fields impact on CIS education and what pedagogical paradigms are required to develop the required competences?
  • What pedagogical approaches best support Gen-Zers to acquire core competences in emerging fields?
  • What is the ontology of emerging fields and what challenges do they present to CIS education and practice?

(b) Cybersecurity Awareness and Social Engineering:  The aim of my research endeavor in this area is to close this current gaps and answer research questions such as:

  • Is there correlation between student activities on technological platforms and their susceptibility to cyberattacks?
  • What factors motivate students to take security actions while using technological platforms?
  • Do student demography and attributes (e.g., majors, GPA, and previous experience) impact their cybersecurity awareness?

(c) Enterprise Engineering: In general terms, enterprise engineering is the discipline that deals with the design, analysis, modeling and evolution of enterprises; and also studies how people, technology (software and hardware), information and processes integrate to evolve and transform complex enterprises. My interest in this area focus on the application of conceptual models, big data & analytics, tools, and information systems to help enterprises manage changes, support agility, and maintain viability.
