    Occupational Therapy Program

Dr. Karen Probst, is a 2004 graduate of Gannon University, where she received her Masters of Science in occupation therapy. Dr. Probst returned to Gannon University in Erie Pennsylvania and earned her post-professional doctorate in 2020. She is an accomplished professor at Gannon University, Erie Campus where she works closely with colleagues to educate the next generation of occupational therapists. Before her career as a professor, she worked as a licensed occupational therapist for over ten years in New York and Pennsylvania, concentrating in geriatrics, adult physical dysfunction, and pediatrics. During that time, she assisted hundreds of clients in their recovery process to regain the highest level of independence possible with self-care and activities of daily living. Currently, she serves as an assistant professor at Gannon’s Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences while also advising students and the Student Occupational Therapy Association. Dr. Probst’s passion for service and inter- and intra-professional collaboration continues with a pro-bono therapy clinic at the Gannon Wellness Center at Chosen Mission Pavilion in Erie, PA. The clinic currently provides occupational and physical therapy services to the underinsured and underserved population both locally and in Valladolid, Mexico with plans in the works to add nursing services as well. In addition to managing her busy career, she is also a wife and the proud mother to four children, Samantha, Mason, Rachel, and Jacob.
