My current research interests are interdisciplinary and apply economic logic to topics within political science, law, philosophy, psychology and finance.  More specifically, I'm interested in the link between public opinion and fiscal policy, political factors affecting pork barrel spending, and the relationship between time preference and political institutions.  Much of my research is in collaboration with my colleague, William McAndrew, and we have published on the salary structure of universities as well as the prevalence of discrimination in The Biggest Loser.
