Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my faculty page!

Teaching at Gannon University in the Villa Maria School of Nursing feels like coming home. I graduated from this very program myself and am so excited to have the opportunity to impact future nurses in the way I was impacted through Gannon. After I graduated, I started my nursing career in the Emergency Department for two years full time. While working, I obtained my Certified School Nurse Certificate and became a School Nurse for 5 years while I still worked per diem in the Emergency Department. Once I started school nursing I decided it was time to get my Master's degree and obtained my Master's of Science in Nursing Education at Duquesne University.

While I loved school nursing, I knew I was missing something and jumped at the opportunity to teach here when I heard a full time position was open. That is the beauty of nursing - there are so many paths and careers within nursing that it's impossible not to find your niche.  While I teach full time here, I also still work in the Emergency Department per diem. This is a wonderful way for me to stay current with not only the academics of nursing, but also my skills.

I have been married for 7 years now to my very supportive husband. We have two dogs at home; Declan - the great dane, and Murphy - the yorkie. Two very opposite sizes, two very different personalities, but both are full of love and keep our home exciting. I love to read and have a slight obsession with all things Harry Potter. I also love gardening, cycling, kayaking, walking my pups, and spending time with my family. Erie is my home and I love living here (yes even with the record breaking snow we get). I really love the summer because it is gorgeous and we have so much to offer! Block parties, 8 Great Tuesday's, Presque Isle, The Bicentennial Tower, Waldameer Park, The Erie Zoo, Asbury Woods, and the list goes on! That all makes up for the sometimes neverending winter months :)

If I can help you in any way on your nursing journey, please do not hesitate to contact me! I would be happy to direct you to the appropriate person or place if I am not able to help. I am looking forward to meeting you!
