I am a life-long resident of the City of Erie and a 1988 graduate of Gannon University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.  Following graduation, I served for eight years as a chemist and an environmental program coordinator for the City of Erie. In 1996, I continued my education at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, in Cleveland, Ohio.  Upon graduation, I returned to Erie and joined the law firm of Quinn, Buseck, Leemhuis, Toohey and Kroto, as an associate attorney in their litigation department.  In November of 2003, I was elected to Erie City Council, where I served two years of a four year term, before being elected, in 2005, as Erie's 50th Mayor.  I served as Mayor of the City of Erie from January of 2006 until January of 2018, successfully securing re-election in 2009 and 2013. In January of 2018, having reached the term limits for the office of Mayor, I returned to the practice of law, with the firm of Marnen, Mioduszewski, Bordonaro, Wagner & Sinnott, LLC. Since returning to practice I have focussed primarily on civil litigation, personal injury/insurance defense litigaiton, workers' compensation, domestic relations and child dependency.  I continue to stay involved in politics and I remain active in matters concerning the Erie Community.
