Dr. Michael Urban is an occupational therapy practitioner, educator, and advocate who has served the profession for over 19+ years. Michael received his MSOT in 2002 from D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY, and his OTD from Quinnipiac University in 2016. In 2006 he received his MBA from the University of New Haven. His roles include the Vice Speaker of the Representative Assembly (RA) for the American Occupational Therapy Association and served as a 2-term member for the RA on the Commission of Practice revising the association's official documents. Dr. Urban is a past President of the Connecticut Occupational Therapy Association. He worked for the Department of Veteran Affairs prior to coming to the University of New Haven as the Chief of Prosthetics. Dr. Urban is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Dr. Urban teaches and assists doctoral students with research methodology and mentors doctoral capstone advisees through their projects. Dr. Urban is passionate and dedicated to the promotion of occupational therapy services across the life span into all practice areas for the health and well-being of those we serve. He is dedicated to strengthening healthcare professionals' understanding of firefighter, police, EMS, veteran, and military personnel occupational needs and wellness.
