Quyen Aoh

  • Associate Professor
    Biology Department

I came to Gannon in 2013 from the southern US. I love learning and often joke that I never left college. You can find me spending my days doing research on human disease with undergraduates and serving the community through my STEM outreach initiative Feeding Minds. I'm also passionate about equity in education, science communication, and  the intersection between science and social and health policy. Outside of Gannon, I'm a mom to two beautiful kids and spend my weekends mass cooking Asian foods, quilting, reading, and gardening (when it's nice outside).

Our lab is focuses on the molecular mechanisms of how membrane traffic is dysregulated in human diseases such as cancer, neurodegenertive disorders, and diabetes. We use mammalian tissue culture cells and the small eukaryotic yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae to explore how changes in membrane traffic affect cell survival and metabolism.
