A Biphasic Approach to Authentic Scientific Research for Undergraduates Laboratory Course
This presentation introduces a new methodology for introducing scientific research into the undergraduate science laboratory experience with the goal of helping students become more familiar and comfortable with scientific research methods. This approach, modeled on the course-based undergraduate research experience, introduces a team-based experimental research project. In the first half of the semester, students learn the concepts, methodology, and skills required to complete the project through a series of tutorials. Simultaneously, they work independently to acquire the knowledge required for their specific variation of the research project. During the second half of the semester, students then work as a team to carry out the research project, which mirrors the skills they learned in the tutorial.

Organizing Digital Research: OneNote Class Notebook and Mindmeister
Studies consistently show that people read documents online much more quickly than they read a paper document, but the world is now firmly planted in digital communication rather than paper. Teaching students how to annotate and organize research provides skills they will need throughout their lives.  OneNote Class Notebook helps students organize and annotate material while allowing for easy presentation of strong student samples and quick assessment on low-stakes writing occasions. MindMeister is an online mind-mapping tool that promotes collaboration and outlining in a digital form.

Blackboard Resources – International MBA Students
This project was the creation of a Blackboard Resource page for MBA students, primarily international.  Many times students do not arrive to campus before the orientation or official start of the semester or simply cannot focus during these sessions being in new surroundings.  This set of resources serves as a supplement and ongoing resource for students.  Some primary resources are around being a new international student in the US and what the US classroom culture is like.  The resources were found to be a helpful place to find much information.

The Human Body Communicates
This project is focused on the design of a Human Bio-Signal Processing laboratory course for engineering students.

Project-Based Learning: A Study on the Impact of IST&P on the Computer Science Students' Learning and Engagement
Project-based learning (PjBL) is a desirable form of active learning that facilitates student engagement, teamwork and problem-solving. Current literature in PjBL has studied the merits, demerits, implementation strategies and the impact of PjBL on student performance. However, PjBL has not been properly studied from the lens of Industry Standard Tools and Practices (IST&Ps). Currently, the specific learning effectiveness of PjBL vis-a-vis IST&Ps are largely unknown. To provide insight into the effectiveness of PjBL in relation to IST&Ps, this project implements PjBL in five different classes using 5 popular IST (Github-Project, GitHub Repository, Jenkins, IntelliJ, and planning poker) and the most common Agile Development practices as ISP. The data collected from 120 juniors and senior students using RIMMS as our instrument. Data is analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The preliminary results show that IST&P has significantly positive impact over learning effectiveness, and students’ engagement.

Usefulness of the Kahoot! In Enhancing the Learning Experiences of Students Enrolled in Human Physiology Course
Kahoot is used to reinforce the important and tough concepts in physiology. At the end of the course, students' performance in the tests before and after Kahoot usage are compared and presented. Students' feedback on the level of satisfaction in learning of the subject with or without Kahoot is also recorded and presented.

Perusall: The Social Reading Platform that Transformed Dom’s Classes
Dominic Prianti's use of Perusall in his philosophy classes fostered reliable reading, saved his students money, saved Dom time (easy grading, less content needed in class), and more for the last three years. With students digesting the content through a more collaborative, enjoyable process, followed by an easily printed "Confusion Report," Dom immediately sees where students' interests and challenges lie with the content, informing more discussion in the following class.
