Join us in honoring Black History Month.

Black history month offers a renewed opportunity to honor, celebrate and uplift the Black voices in our community – past, present and future. We invite you to join in on Gannon’s Black History Month education and programming, with upcoming events including:

Black History Month Open Table 

Feb. 9 | Noon – 3 p.m. | Waldron Campus Center
Join the Black Student Union outside of Chick-Fil-A to celebrate the beginning of Black History Month. Photos and snacks are included. 

Prayer Service 

Feb. 13 | 6 p.m. | Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel
All are welcome to participate in a prayer service based around a celebration of Black History Month. The service will include poetry, ecumenical praise and worship, scripture readings and a highly anticipated keynote speech from Dr. A’Darius Porter. The event will also include live music from esteemed local Erie guest musicians and student-leaders, as well as hors d'oeuvres and refreshments in Kraus Hall.

Ruskin Campus – Documentary Viewing

Feb. 13 & Feb. 15 | 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. | RN 111
We invite you to join us on our Ruskin campus for a selection of documentaries showcasing the impact of historical leaders in our communities. The features will include Hughes Dream Harlem, George Washington Carver: An Uncommon Life, and The Rise and Fall of St. Louis’s Black Hospital | The Color of Medicine. Ruskin North – Room 111 will host the programming, which will also include refreshments, snacks, local resources, and inspirational take-home items.
