Gannon is proud to empower the engineers of tomorrow to make their mark on the world.
Gannon University is thrilled to celebrate National Engineers Week recognizing the incredible contributions of its students, faculty, alumni and engineers worldwide. From groundbreaking innovations to transformative solutions, engineers play a pivotal role in shaping the future and driving progress in every corner of the globe.
Gannon is proud to empower the engineers of tomorrow to make their mark on the world.
As part of the university’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in engineering, Gannon celebrates its women engineers who are breaking barriers, making strides and paving the way for future generations. Their stories of resilience, determination and excellence serve as a beacon of inspiration for all aspiring engineers. The university looks forward to recognizing their success to inspire future generations on Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day on Feb. 22.
Gannon is also inviting high school students to its Institute for Health and Cyber Knowledge on Friday, Feb. 23 for an immersive event, "Welcome to the Future," featuring engineering activities, MakerSpace demonstrations and opportunities to connect with industry professionals. It's a chance for students to explore their interests and envision a future filled with endless possibilities.
Gannon student engineers are hard at work on many different research and hands-on projects, one in particular is helping the university prepare for the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8. Led by a team of innovative junior and senior biomedical and mechanical engineering majors – Claire Rogillio, Lili Lander, Nate Schneider and John Brady – Gannon engineers are building large viewing windows designed to provide a safe and immersive viewing experience for eclipse spectators.
These viewing windows, crafted with specialized materials, will allow individuals to observe the solar eclipse without the need for protective eyewear, enhancing the viewing experience for students, faculty and community members alike. For use at a campus-wide gathering as well as a few downtown Erie locations, these viewing windows will serve as a testament to the ingenuity and creativity of Gannon engineers.
