Multiple SAMPE chapter members presented their research and awards at the symposium

Dr. Longfei Zhou, along with Gannon University students Irati Arzalluz and Fidan Tahirli, represented the newly formed Gannon Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) chapter at the annual Baltimore/Washington SAMPE University Research Symposium held at the University of Maryland on April 3rd. During the event, which showcases research from student chapters, Irati presented her project, "Layer Printing Time Prediction for Direct Metal Laser Sintering," earning fourth place and a $200 prize in oral presentations. Fidan also won the fourth place and a $200 award for her poster on "3D Printing Defect Early Detection Using Machine Learning."
