Things to Do

  • Professional Sports

Erie is home to several professional sports teams including the Erie Seawolves (Minor League Baseball), Erie Bayhawks (NBA D-League), and Erie Otters (OHL Hockey). In addition, Erie residents have the opportunity to watch races at the Lake Erie Speedway.

    Amusement Parks

Waldameer Park and Water World is one of the oldest amusement parks in America and is located within minutes of the Gannon campus. The park has over 75 attractions for thrill-seekers and family fun. Splash Lagoon is also located in Erie and is one of the largest indoor water parks in the eastern United States.

    Arts and Entertainment

The city is full of great arts and entertainment destinations including the Erie Art Museum, Erie Zoo, Erie Phillharmonic, Erie Playhouse, Historic Warner Theatre, Jr.'s Last Laugh Comedy Club and more.

    Parks and Recreation

Perhaps Erie's greatest resource, Presque Isle State Park is a seven-mile long peninsula that juts out into Lake Erie. The bay formed by the peninsula is all that separates Gannon's campus from countless outdoor activities. A 13.5 mile multi-purpose trail complements miles of sandy beaches and interior hiking trails cut through the landscape. By land or sea, there are dozens of things to do on the peninsula.
