    Get Career Ready!

We endorse the National Association of Colleges and Employers’ (NACE) career-readiness competencies, and through our partnership with Gannon’s Career Exploration and Development (CED) Office, you’ll work through strengthening the competencies that form the foundation for a successful career – so you can be “career-ready” upon graduation!

Shaking Hands with the Dean of CEB

All undergraduate students in DSB will participate in a Career Preparation Series embedded into the Business Core curriculum.  From your first business course (BCOR 105) you’ll start connecting what you’re learning in the classroom to your post-graduation professional lives. Upon completion of the series, you will be equipped to articulate your exploration and development of who you are and who you want to be as a career-ready professional.

Our focus on career-prep series also includes an annual Business Professional Development Day each spring – we connect you to employers who share their insights on contemporary issues in the workplace like professionalism, communication, and being a leader – plus what they “look for” when hiring business school graduates. The day continues with a networking lunch and professional headshot opportunities!

Our faculty in the Sport Business program have numerous connections with both local and national sports organizations (Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Erie SeaWolves, Buffalo Bills, and more). These relationships allow you to hear from leading experts in the field through guest lectures and gain valuable experience through internship opportunities.  Our students can travel with the program faculty to events like the NFL Super Bowl, the NFL Draft and MLB All-Star Week to have on-site, hands-on experience.  Students from all majors are welcome and you can count on at least one on-site trip to a national event each year.
