Welcome to the School of Communication and the Arts, located in the Center for Communication and the Arts building. The school is part of the College of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education (CHESS).
The School of Communication and the Arts is designed to prepare students to become accomplished communicators in a variety of professions. Students in the school engage in comprehensive, multidisciplinary education in human communication studies, media
production, advertising, journalism, and the performing arts.
As a student in the School of Communication and the Arts, you will become exposed to many experiences that offer hands on learning opportunities. You may choose to:
- Write for our award-winning student newspaper, The Gannon Knight
- Perform in a theater production
- Perform on-air with WERG, Gannon's student-run radio station, that won "best student radio station in the nation in 2014"
- Travel abroad with faculty to numerous countries including the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, with our Theatre department
- Script, shoot and edit video and graphics for local organizations or in house projects

The Center for Communication and the Arts is home to programs, organizations and amenities that serve the students and the Erie community. These include:
