Undergraduate Education
Gannon’s undergraduate education programs are approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and they have also received special designation as a promising model/innovative practice in five areas: candidate competencies, key academic standards
and assessment anchors, faculty activities and collaboration, field experiences and student teaching and new teacher support.
We help students build their resumes starting with freshman year. The success of our efforts is verified by our high job placement rate in today's competitive market and top scores on the professional exams. Our
graduates have a current job placement rate between 96% and 100% during the
past three years.
As an undergraduate learner in the School of Education, you will have many hands-on learning opportunities:
- Begin field experiences in a school setting during the first semester of their freshman year.
- Gain extensive, practical field experiences through multiple placements in urban, suburban, and rural schools, including both private and public institutions throughout the four-year program.
- Engage in a wide variety of service-learning and projects.
- Qualify for $16,000 in TEACH grant funds that help to underwrite tuition costs.
- Study at Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, Ireland, for a semester.
- Enjoy reciprocal agreements for teacher certification with 45 other states.
