Office of Learning Abroad and International Academic Programs
Gannon University’s Office of Learning Abroad and International Academic Programs offers students the opportunity to explore the world while earning academic credit through credit-bearing experiences for students of every major. The benefits students
will experience through participation in Learning Abroad programs include (but are by no means limited to!) increased adaptability, self-confidence and self-awareness, and greater cultural understanding and appreciation.
Students can choose from short-term programs, such as our GIFT (Gannon: Inspired Faculty-led Travel) Courses, or long-term programs, such as a semester exchange at one of Gannon’s partner universities, a summer study abroad program, or an international
credit-bearing internship experience offered through our partnership with CISabroad.
A lot of preparation goes into a successful study abroad experience. Students need to be prepared to actively work with the Office of Learning Abroad, as well as their academic advisor, and take responsibility for the planning and logistics of their study
abroad experience.
The Learning Abroad handbook is a wealth of information for students considering a semester abroad. You’ll
learn more about Gannon’s partner universities throughout the world, how tuition exchange at partner universities works, the details and timeline of the application process, general tips for preparing for a semester abroad, and more!
