Why choose Gannon?
Preparation for Leadership
Gannon University’s more than 70 undergraduate and nearly 25 graduate programs in liberal arts and professional specializations prepare students for leadership roles in their careers, society and church. A value-centered education gives students the opportunity
to build morally and intellectually significant lives and careers in an ever-changing world.
Student Centered
A 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio ensures that students receive committed teaching and personal attention. We bring out the best in you -- not just academically, but personally, socially, and spiritually as well.
Rooted in Faith
Faith is at the center of everything at Gannon. While we are a Diocesan university grounded in the Catholic Tradition, we warmly welcome persons of all faiths and backgrounds, providing opportunities for respect, and enrichment through diversity within
the Gannon community. Campus Ministry actively provides opportunities for faith development through daily/weekend liturgies, retreats, and weekly Bible studies. Alternative Spring Breaks and Service-learning classes enhance our students' learning
through hands-on experience -- both on campus and abroad.
Vibrant, Urban Campus
The vibrant, urban campus of Gannon University is located on the waterfront in the heart of Erie, Pennsylvania's entertainment and cultural district.
For fun, you can take in a concert, play or movie, catch a SeaWolves baseball game (AA affiliate of the Detroit Tigers) or an Ontario Hockey League Otters game. There are several outdoor festivals throughout the year – all within walking distance of campus
This location enables students to easily find internships and co-op jobs with federal, state, and local government agencies; accounting, law, and marketing firms; hospitals; industrial and insurance companies; and museums.
The Gannon campus is also close to Presque Isle State Park, a popular tourist attraction with seven miles of beaches, lagoons, hiking trails and biking and jogging paths. Three miles away is the Millcreek Mall Complex, often cited as the third-largest
shopping mall in the U.S.
The major metropolitan centers of Cleveland, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh are all within two hours' driving time, as is Canada.
