Jana Sossong

Director of Human Resources

Jana joined Gannon in December 2021.  She began her HR career in 2005 and has held a variety of roles from employment to employee relations.

She is a proud Gannon graduate and is excited to be working here!  Jana is married and the proud mom of one son and two step-daughters. 

Robin Senger

Compensation and Benefits Manager

Robin joined Gannon in November 2022. She has been in HR for close to ten years in a variety of positions, the longest being benefits.

She was born and raised in Erie, and is married and a proud mother of one daughter and two dogs. She loves to travel and spend time at the beach.

Robin is a Gannon Alumni and is excited to be back!

Shane Thompson

Talent Acquisition Manager

Shane joined Gannon in January 2023. He has held various roles in Human Resources over the past twenty years, and comes with ten years of direct Talent Acquisition experience.

Shane grew up in Spartansburg, PA & Jamestown, NY. Following his service in the U.S. ARMY as a Chaplain’s Assistant, he attended Lincoln Christian College & Seminary in Lincoln, IL. He pastored for ten years and was ordained in May 2020. Shane lives in Erie with his wife, two children, and three dogs.

Raechel Miller

Talent Acquisition Specialist

Raechel’s Gannon career began in Marketing & Communications four years ago, and her expertise from her previous career as an HR Generalist in retail is being put to excellent use in Gannon’s hiring efforts!

Raechel also enjoys traveling with her husband and daughter, and volunteering at Because You Care.

Denise Comi

HRIS Specialist/HRIS Administrator

Denise started at Gannon in July 2017 in the Villa Maria School of Nursing, and joined the HR team in September 2023. She has almost 20 years experience of business and supervisory experience in the healthcare field.

Denise has been the Confirmation facilitator and volunteer catechist at Blessed Sacrament Parish for the past 16 years, as well as a lector and Eucharistic Minister. She's married to her high school sweetheart and has three kids, one daughter-in-law, and two dogs.

Heather Michel

HR Generalist/HRIS

Heather joined the HR team in October 2022. She has a several years of experience with non-profits, social services, and healthcare and is excited to be a part of the HR team.

Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters and can be found walking the shores of Lake Erie looking for driftwood and beach glass.

Rachel Jessup

Administrative Assistant

Rachel started her HR career at Gannon in April 2022 after about two years in the Cashier’s Office. She has a varied background with extensive customer service experience.

Rachel was born and raised in Erie. She’s a Gannon mom who loves spending time with her daughter and her son, and volunteering at E.A.R.S.
